Holiday Inn Express Colchester By Ihg

I liked how the hotel looked, absolutely brilliant and exceptionally comfortable place. The location was comfortable and peaceful for exploring this domestic area, near to the zoo, and restaurant. Also, there was The Munnings Art Museum, set within 5 minutes drive.

It's decent base for visiting some must see attractions in Colchester. The staff is genuinely helpful and very friendly, makes sure that the place is spotless. The location is comfortable, so close to the restaurant for a meal and Sea and Colchester and zoo - couldn't be better.

the rooms are clean and absolutely perfect with a good size shower and our experience is really great.

The room had a powerful shower but was uncomfortably cold due to no heating.

The hot breakfast food was cold. Other than that the remaining food was ogling a good standard.

The location is peaceful, 4 km from The Munnings Art Museum.

In a hotel like this - bad smell is unacceptable.

Ample free parking.

The room was clean and comfortable, the staff very friendly and the continental breakfast was plentiful. All this at a great price. Security was good as you need a key pass card to access corridors to rooms. We ere very impressed and will definately stay there again in the near future.

The clean and comfortable rooms and the modern design of the interior although it's a pity there is nowhere for a evening meal

Comfortable stay with nice breakfast

Spent a night here. The room was really clean and pretty spacious. Staff were super friendly and helped us out. Breakfast was tasty, especially liked the variety. Just wish the air conditioning wasn't so cold when we arrived. Took forever to warm up. The bar was nice too, open late which was great.

No bacon at breakfast - unforgivable

Buses that go to Colchester town centre run every two hours so it may not be convenient if you plan to take a bus.

Breakfast was super handy, especially being able to take it to go. Location is good too for a quick stop during ferry trips, and the castle park nearby was a nice surprise for the kids after long hours in the car. Easy check-in n clean room.

But the sofa bed was really uncomfy for the kids and the beds were smaller than expected. Would have liked more space in the room.

Perfect for a couple's getaway

Bed was really comfy. The room was lovely and dark when going to sleep, perfect for a much needed rest after long days on the road.

It wasn't exactly cheap, but still acceptable.
